Uruguay Wingshooting for Dove, Pigeon, and Perdiz

Join the Deibler Outdoors Television Team for a South American wingshooting adventure in Uruguay. Uruguay is nestled between Argentina and Brazil on the South American Coast. You will find large expanses of open fields planted in sunflower, wheat, oats, and other grain crops. Millions of doves and pigeons descend on these fields during the growing and harvest seasons which lasts from January through September.

You will board an evening flight out of the U.S., make a plane change in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and arrive in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. There you will be met by our representative, get cleared through customs, and be on your way to an estancia for four days of shooting.

Uruguay offers high volume dove, pigeon and Perdiz shooting. Morning hunts for either Perdiz, dove, or pigeons begins after breakfast. The locations have been selected based on the previous evening's scouting. Bird boys carry the shells, shooting stool, and assist your hunt. You may shoot a hundred boxes of shells for there are no limits on dove and pigeon. Bring eye, ear, and shoulder protection. Afternoon hunts occur at known roost locations and are the best hunts in South America for a wing shooter.

The Perdiz season runs May through July. It's much like quail hunting in the old southern style. Perdiz are about twice the size of a Bobwhite, are found in singles and pairs, and are excellent table fare. Perdiz are hunted over well-trained dogs and the limit is 10 / person / day. A pair of hunters will work with one guide and a pointing dog. A normal morning hunt will have 50 points and flushes.

The accommodations are a working cattle ranch, estancia, set up for hunting. Two hunters to a room with private bath/shower.

The food is first class including three daily meals. Big hearty breakfasts of eggs, sausage, etc. Lunches are also hearty after the morning hunt. this may include T-bones or a whole roasted pig, as well as, vegetables and desserts. Dinner is more of the same, multiple dishes, appetizers, desserts, fine wine, and an open bar.

You are allowed to bring two shotguns. Autoloaders allowed, no plugs necessary. You definitely need two guns with this high volume shooting in case one jams up after a thousand rounds! We will help with gun permits. You can also rent quality shotguns for a daily fee.
